Let me start off by saying thank you for all the support. I am Derek, and together with my missus, Katie, and our 3 kids, we run Caledonian Cards & Collectibles right from our crazy little fishing village in the north east of Scotland. Right at the top of the UK—it's as cold as it sounds, but we love it and it's home!

The whole card business idea started after Katie and I were out having a meal. I popped out a Love Ball Pokémon tin, and while we were waiting for our food (double cheeseburger and chips!!), we ripped some packs. She only went and hit the Espeon Vmax Alt Art!

A few days later, I thought about how awesome that was—just having pure fun ripping packs. But like everyone else, back then it was a struggle to even get a pack to open. I thought, how are kids gonna get a chance?

So, I started making homemade packs, tins, and bundles. I was picking through my collection, buying, selling, and even vending at schools—selling packs with hits for £2 and mini tins for £5. I loved every second of it! To this day, I still make those homemade products (YES, WITH OFFICIAL CARDS!) as a way of keeping the cost down but the fun high.

Anyway, I could type forever, honestly—I'd speak to a brick wall! Maybe that's why people enjoy the Caledonian Cards Whatnot shows, haha.
